BIO: Professional snowboarder and skateboarder, Shaun White’s skateboarding career took place during the same time he was soaring through the snowboarding ranks. Tony Hawk quickly noticed Shaun at a local skate park and began mentoring him and helped Shaun turn pro by age seventeen. For skateboarding, Shaun has won many titles: most remarkably the overall title of Action Sports Tour Champion and being the first person to compete in and win both Summer and Winter X Games in two different sports. At the age of six Shaun followed in his brother’s footsteps, and switched from skiing to snowboarding and at age seven he received his first sponsorship. Shaun White has participated in the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics and won gold in the snowboarding halfpipe event. Since 2002, Shaun has won a medal every year at the Winter X Games. His medal count stands at fifteen with ten gold, three silver and two bronze at all the Winter X Games through 2009. Amidst these medals include the first quadruple win streak by a male athlete in one event-the slopestyle. His streak was ended in 2007 when he lost to Andreas Wiig and Teddy Flandreau-Shaun took the bronze.
At the 2006 Olympics, Shaun won gold in the half-pipe. With some hiccups along the way, his first run was a score of only 37.7, 45.3 on his second and on his third 46.8 to win the half-pipe event. The silver medalist was American Danny Kass. The 2008 was a near-flawless run for Shaun; he grabbed his third continuous halfpipe title at the U.S. Open Snowboarding Championship, his third U.S. Open slopestyle competition, and two gold medals at the Winter X Games. Shaun also released his first videogame, Shaun White Snowboarding and in 2008, was the 20th bestselling game in the U.S. Vancouver was the host of the 2010 Winter Olympics and where Shaun again won gold in the halfpipe. In his first run he received a score of 46.8 which was high enough to lock down the gold medal without a second run. Shaun preformed his run anyway, and ended his run with his highly anticipated Double McTwist 1260, which he named The Tomahawk, which scored him a 48.4, broadening his victory from the silver place of 45.0.
Shaun’s performance in 2011 in the Slopestyle disappointedly did not allow him to qualify for finals but he recovered for the Superpipe. Sitting in second place with a score of 89, he finished the run landing with his famous Double McTwist 1260 and received a score of 97.33 which gave him the lead and he maintained his fourth straight Gold in the Winter X Games, which were held in Aspen Colorado. At the 2011 ESPY awards, Shaun was awarded the Best Male Action Sport Athlete. This score tied Whites record, which he held previously. Shaun White is available for Trade Shows, Corporate Events and Corporate Hospitalities.
