Mia Hamm was the youngest player to ever play for the U.S. National Team at the age of fifteen. After seventeen year, two World Championships and two Olympic Gold medals, Mia retired in 2004 and has records in appearances, goals, MVP awards and overall performance. In April of 1999, Nike named its largest building on its corporate campus after Mia. Mia also was endorsed by Nike. She was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002, and as chosen by Pele himself, one of FIFA’s 125 Best Living Player. In March 2008, Mia was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

Mia is also a founding member of the Women’s United Soccer Association and led the Washington Freedom to the Founder’s Cup. Even though Mia Hamm has many awards and accomplishments, this is only half of Mia’s story as an extraordinary athlete. Mia gives her free time to charitable causes and helps to promote women’s athletics, soccer and helping young people find their sense of purpose. Mia is a pioneer in soccer and a role model to athletes and fans. She believes in equal opportunity for men and women, Title IX legislation and the love of her game. Mia is available for sporting events, sports clinics and speaking engagements.
