BIO: Kerri Walsh would begin to make her mark on the volleyball world at Stanford University, where she won national titles in 1996 and 1997 and was a 4-year 1st-team All-American, and co-National Player of the Year in 1999.

Kerri is a 2-time AVP MVP (2003, 2004), was AVP’s Best Offensive Player in 2003, was chosen as FIVB’s Best Hitter, Best Blocker and Sportsperson in addition to collecting the 2007 Best Offensive and Most Outstanding Player awards. Along with partner Misty May-Treanor, Kerri had one of the longest and most impressive winning streaks in professional sports after winning 89 straight matches on the AVP Tour as well as the international circuit between 2003 and 2004. In 2007 her 20 wins (domestic and international combined) tied her with Misty for the most wins in a single season. Walsh continued her dominance at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens by bringing home a Gold Medal. In 2006, Walsh became the fourth American female athlete to surpass $1 million in career earnings.

Beyond winning dozens of tournaments, Kerri Walsh is an extremely valuable marketing idol for the sport. Her friendly and personable demeanor, great sportsmanship, and dominance on the court have done much to fuel the popularity of beach volleyball in the 2000′s. She has appeared in several television commercials and been a guest on a number of popular talk shows.
