BIO: Edwin Moses began his running career at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Initially, Edwin competed in the 120 yard hurdles and 440 yard dash. Up until March 1976, he ran only one 400 meter hurdle race, but once concentrating on the event he never looked back. His trademark was his 13 steps between each hurdle, while he pulled away in the second half of the race; his opponents changed their stride pattern. That summer, Edwin qualified for the US team for the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. In his first international meet, Edwin Moses set the world record.

He broke his own world record the next year, but lost to West Germany’s Harald Schmid in Belrin on August 26, 1977. But, the very next week he beat Harald Schmid by 15 meters and from that moment on, he did not lose another race for nine year, nine months and nine days.

On June 4, 1987, Edwin lost to American Danny Harris in Madrid. This marked the first time he had lost in 122 consecutive races. Edwin Moses had won 122 races in a row, set the world record two more times, won three World Cup titles, two World Championships and earned his second Olympic gold medal in Los Angeles. After his loss to Danny Harris, Edwin went on to win ten more races in a row, and received the bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. As of October 2008, Edwin still holds 26 of the 100 fastest times in the 400 meter hurdles.

Edwin is available for public service announcements, satellite media tours and speaking engagements.
